Robert Syslo had to fight tooth and nail to get where he wanted to be in life. He struggled and conquered obstacles such as having very little money and being homeless. Despite this, he never lost sight of his true passion, which was his passion for filmmaking.
“While in Jersey City, I was just unhappy in college, I dropped out and drove across the country to New Mexico at that time 2008. The state offered great tax incentives for film, so I felt like I could get in the industry there. What ended up happening though I went back to school, dropped out again in pursuit of my career. I was hired by NBC Universal and Hilton to film 60 locations around New Mexico and develop advertisements for those locations, restaurants, hotels, resorts, hiking trails you name it I did it. Shortly after, I wanted to try my work in Los Angeles and ended up moving there. At the time, I was in a relationship that caused me great distress and mental anguish. I’ll spare the details, long story short I wound up homeless on the streets of Los Angeles. I couldn’t work, the trouble from the relationship, my family life, left me spinning. I had no way to understand people and did not know how to sell. The only thing that I could do was my production work,” Robert recounts.
His focus and determination led him through his struggles to find his passion. He was able to turn his life around after finding some good fortune and getting a job and gig off of Craig’s List.
“I landed a gig off of Craigslist with Grant Cardone and everything accelerated from there. I was exposed to the world of high life living, luxury jets, and entrepreneurs and successful business owners. I realized this is what I was missing – business skills. I also got involved in personal development. As I was helping film and create for Cardone, I learned sales and quickly became one of the top producers there. I started off making about $38,000 a year and scaled an advertising agency while there to about $12,000,000 in contract value in 4 years. Being exposed to all these entrepreneurs and successful business people got me inspired. I began to wonder if I could do this on my own. The decision to leave began to come into view. I had thought about it before, but didn’t know if I could handle it. The last year I worked there I decided it was time and began to make my preparations. I studied, learned, enhanced my mindset to prepare for the shift and saved as much as I could,” Robert explains.
Robert has since completely turned his life around. He now has 350 clients worldwide and makes millions after barely scraping by in life. He now runs his very own business called Syslo Ventures which specializes in advertising, marketing, and production.
“Syslo Ventures is an advertising, marketing and production company. We do everything from high video production, social media management, social media advertising, brand development, branding and promotion training, website design, and graphic design. We currently service over 350 clients worldwide. This year we are focusing on expanding the business to over 12 employees, expanding our training program to thousands of subscribers, and reaching more people than ever before on all social media platforms all the while focused on delivery and customer service,” Robert remarks.
Robert has even overcome the hardest trial of Covid-19. Seeing it as his company’s big test, he took it on with great stride. He sat down with his company and devised a way to get through the difficult times ahead.
“At that time, the SBA Loans were coming available and I consulted several financial experts on whether or not it was necessary to do it. After much deliberation I decided against doing it and that I was going to do what I know best, promote hard, deliver great service and share every aspect of my company. What that resulted in, during the crisis, was the biggest and highest levels of sales and expansion for my company. April 2020 we had our highest month ever in sales company history, May 2020 we did it again and beat April to have our highest month ever in company history, and this month in June 2020 we beat May again for our highest month ever. By the end of the year we hit the 7 figure mark and continue to expand. All of my employees received their paychecks and all clients were given above excellent service,” Robert states.
Robert will continue with his company and big plans in the future. To find out more about Robert, you can follow him on instagram here and check out his website here .
