Self-Made Businesswoman, Veronica Ruiz Del Vizo, Shares Her Advice On Starting A Business

Veronica Ruiz Del Vizo is a proudly self-made serial entrepreneur and young global leader of the World Economic Forum. At only 20 years old, she founded her own digital agency, where she ran digital campaigns for brands like PEPSICO, DIAGEO, Nestlé, Procter and Gamble, and many more. A few years ago, Veronica co-created an e-learning platform called DAR, in which people from all over the world could access online classes with professionals with over 10 years of experience. Now, Veronica runs a digital agency, “Team Remoto,” and, with the arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic, created a successful online course called “Bootcamp Transforma Tu Instagram en 21 Días,” which translates to “Bootcamp Transform Your Instagram in 21 Days.” In as little as 7 months, and during a worldwide pandemic, the Bootcamp reached over 12 thousand enrollments and made over one million dollars. As a self-made businesswoman, she has ample knowledge about what it takes to be an entrepreneur, and shares some advice with starting entrepreneurs:

Veronica’s first tip is to realize that you are your best ally, and it is up to you to choose if you see difficulties as opportunities or obstacles –

Veronica’s mother died when she was 17 years old, which marked a before and after in her history. As an innate problem solver, Veronica developed a strong sense of urgency and found ways to transform the difficult situations in her life. Ever since her mother passed, Veronica has had a proactive approach when difficult situations appear and has been able to create spaces and new projects despite any hurdles.

Veronica took control of her life and did not allow this crisis to take over. Instead, she transformed it into the beginning of a new cycle of her life that she could be proud of.

“I went through a very difficult time after my mother died. However, once I understood that I was going through a duel, I decided that this was a chapter that was closing and that it only meant that it was a new beginning with new tools,” shares Veronica.

Veronica acknowledges the fact that there will always be difficult moments, especially as an entrepreneur, however, it is important to pick yourself up and keep moving forward.

What is not addressed will tend to get worse –

Veronica points out the importance of addressing issues as they come up. Problems that are left unresolved usually escalate, leading to greater problems in the future. This is why one of her keys to success is to be proactive, and dissipate any issues before they have the chance to turn into real problems.

You have to live with passion to create new things –

One of the most important pieces of advice is to think of ways that you can be different and add value to your consumer. In today’s world, products, ideas, and solutions are repeated. Hence, it is important to find a way to stand out.

“You need a sense of urgency. You need to be responsible for creating opportunities,” says Veronica.

Work that entertains and nurtures you is worth it –

Veronica also makes it a point to have fun and enjoy work. It’s not enough to be driven by the financial outcomes of your business. You need to have passion and be entertained by what you do on a daily basis. Furthermore, it is important to give back and feel a sense of reward with the work that you do.

“The best ventures, the best managers are those who are useful to other people. They make your life valuable to others. That is where growth goes,” states Veronica.

Finally, the last piece of advice is to: Know how to wait and never stop working hard –

Starting out a business can be overwhelming and it can be frustrating when you don’t get the results you want as quickly as you want. However, if you are working from a place of passion, and keep at it, hard work will pay off.

“Working from passion is the most dignifying way to live life. When I was starting out, I knew that I was small and that I had a lot to prove. Knowing how to wait opens up valuable opportunities for you,” Veronica shares.

Veronica views her work as a way of living with dignity and hopes to serve as an inspiration to other women and entrepreneurs to dare to do the same. She seeks to open the path for new generations by showing that work is not something that has to be tedious, but instead is a way to honor your life and exploit your full potential.
